Although the construction and development of industrial zones have created favorable conditions for the province to mobilize capital sources to contribute to economic growth and create jobs for workers, the rapid increase of industrialization has caused problems. less difficulties in managing and protecting the environment (environmental protection).

However, by specific and practical solutions, such as: spending the investment budget on environmental protection works and projects; By inspecting, monitoring, and supporting infrastructure investors and secondary enterprises to implement regulations, Ba Ria – Vung Tau has basically controlled industrial waste sources. Accordingly, for wastewater, all 13 operating industrial zones have centralized wastewater treatment stations that meet environmental standards.

12/12 IPs have invested in installing automatic wastewater monitoring systems and transmitting data to the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Ba Ria – Vung Tau province for monitoring and supervision. Periodically and irregularly, the Ba Ria – Vung Tau Industrial Zones Management Board also coordinates with the Department of Natural Resources and Environment and related agencies and units to inspect the collection and treatment of wastewater as well as urge new businesses to connect wastewater to the wastewater collection and treatment system of the industrial park in order to limit the generation of wastewater into the environment.

Towards green and sustainable development

In particular, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment has strengthened the review, advising to adjust and promulgate administrative procedures on the environment in the direction of concretizing processes and procedures and shortening the implementation time of documents and procedures. about the environment; proactively coordinate with departments and sectors to advise on screening and prioritizing the selection of projects using modern technology, generating little waste; resolutely not to accept projects with a high risk of causing environmental pollution, using outdated technology, and consuming a lot of raw materials and fuel, having great impacts on the environment..

 Consistent with the goal of developing a green, environmentally friendly industry.

At the same time, organize the appraisal of environmental documents and procedures in a strict, accurate, and effective manner; strengthen inspection and inspection after the project is put into operation, detect and strictly handle establishments violating regulations on the discharge of waste causing environmental pollution; strengthen the dissemination and education of the law, raise awareness about environmental protection for industrial production establishments, infrastructure investors of industrial zones in the province.

Mr. Nguyen Cong Vinh – Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Ba Ria – Vung Tau province said: The objective of the Resolution of the 7th Ba Ria – Vung Tau Provincial Party Congress, by 2045, the industry of Ba Ria – Vung Tau province – Vung Tau develops modernly and is one of the environmentally friendly industrial development models. Accordingly, in order to achieve the goal of the Resolution set out, the People’s Committee of Ba Ria – Vung Tau province requested relevant departments, branches, and localities to continue to implement synchronous solutions, in which priority is to focus on propaganda, raising awareness of all levels, branches, and authorities about the role and importance of industrial development policy in the cause of industrialization and modernization of the province.
